Trade mission to India seen to unveil business prospects

CEBU, Philippines - Business matching opportunities are inevitable between India and Cebu businesses during the 29th India International Trade Fair, as a team from the Cebu Chamber of Commerce will be heading there on November 20-26.                       

CCCI president Samuel Chioson said that the 34 members of the delegation, mostly coming from the academe, food and Information Technology industry, will be a undertaking the trade mission in India.

Chioson said that through the trip, they aim to open more doors for both parties in each of the two countries and have trade opportunities as well as invite more tourists in Cebu.                                                                                                                                                      He said that as the trade fair will help them participate in the 29th staging of the IITF, various businesses in Cebu from different sectors would be given a chance to be known internationally.                                                                                      

According to Chioson, they would be the first in Cebu to be participating in the IITF.                                                                                The IITF is a premier and major event for the Business sector. The annual affair has continued to attract tourists and business partners coming from sectors dealing in various products like automobiles, Textiles, Garments, Household Appliances, Kitchen Appliances, Processed food, Beverages, Confectionery, Drugs, Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals, Cosmetics, Bodycare & Health care products, Telecommunication, Power sector, Electronic Sector, Furniture, Home Furnishings, Sports Goods, Toys, Engineering Goods and a lot more.                                     

Recently, CCCI went on a trade mission in Israel where a sister-chamber agreement is now in the works with the business chamber in Rishon Lezion , Israel. Chioson said that they hope for the agreement to be signed at the end of this year.                                              

The agreement is aimed at gathering more partnerships between Israel and Cebu and open chances for trade activities.                                         

Chioson said that a group from Israel would be coming in next year for a visit.                   

Chioson also said that aside from Israel and India, they are aiming to have more partnerships with other countries for trade and tourism prospects.
