Aqua Pure to invest P10M to expand market coverage
Cebu-based purified water provider, Aqua Pure Water Resources Inc., yesterday announced that it will invest P10 million to expand its production coverage and distribution in Visayas and Mindanao.
With this move, Aqua Pure gave the assurance of providing affordable purified drinking water to every household, especially to the "poor' who can hardly afford to buy safe and potable water.
In an interview with Aqua Pure vice president January T. Samson, she said that in the next few months, the company is going to launch a massive campaign to offer cheaper purified drinking water that will be pegged at a price in such a way that a marginal household could afford to buy on a daily basis.
According to Samson, there is a need to provide the mainstream market with affordable drinking water, especially that water from the faucet is no longer safe.
"This is to address the recurring problem on drinking water affecting poor people," Samson said.
Aqua Pure is going to source out financial support from Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) and Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) for this venture.
The company, which has been in the purified water distribution, using the Reverse-Osmosis (RO) technology for the last 10 years, had been able to establish its network in the Visayas and Mindanao markets.
"We will make sure that we will offer cheaper than anybody else in the market," Samson said.
Currently, average price for five-galloon bottle is at P35, this is going to lower once, Aqua Pure is ready to launch the campaign, she said.
Also with this improved technology, and equipment to double its bottling capacity, Samson said Aqua Pure will also open up its purified bulk water supply to interesting water retail distributions in the Southern Philippines.
Although, the retail and distribution of purified drinking water have increased tremendously in the last few years, with a lot of new companies opening up OS outlet to provide purified drinking water both to residential and commercial clients, Samson said Aqua Pure will bank on its expertise in the business being one of the pioneers in the industry.
Over time, Aqua Pure will be putting up multi-site plants for bottling operations, especially in the key cities in Visayas and Mindanao.
At present, the company is distributing over 20,000 bottles (with five-galloon load) daily, in its entire operations.
"We are going to double or triple the number of five-galloon bottles being distributed, as our main goal to providing affordable purified drinking water to everybody, especially the masses," she said.
"Truly, the environment in this particular industry is very competitive. But, in the end quality, good service and affordability will always prevail," she concluded.
