US-based firm expands network services in RP

-

A US-based company, Momentum Plus recently announced to widen its distribution network in the Philippines, to provide Filipinos cheaper global long-distance call charge, via the Voice-Over-Internet-Protocol (VoIP) technology.

VoIP is an internet-based telecommunication technology that has been touted to drive down monthly telecommunication charges in the Philippines.

Momentum Plus president and chief executive officer (CEO) Lance Lomako, together with the company's chief operating officer (Coo), John V. Cicotte, were in Cebu over the weekend to strengthen the company's presence in the Visayas, starting with Cebu.

Momentum Plus' flagship product Momentum Plus Global Phone, the VoIP unit, is considered as a computer accessory or USB (Universal Serial Bus) device that would connect to the Internet, for voice communication access throughout the world.

With this, a subscriber or unit owner could use VoIP provided that there is an Internet connection at home, Internet Cafes, offices, WiFi zones, among others, charging long distance call of .70 centavos (dollar) per minute for Philippines to US service. And a free-charge calls if both parties are using Momentum Plus Global Phone gadget.

The cost of the gadget would only range from US$59 to US$109. But the company has several products to suit the needs of different consumer, including those who do not have computers, or Internet access.

Distributed through Multi-Level-Marketing (MLM) concept, Lamako said the company will not just offer a low-cost communication rate to Filipinos to call their love ones abroad, or in other parts of the country, but it will also offer business opportunity to large number Filipinos. —Ehda M.
