Energy saving lamp maker to strengthen RP operations

Boasting the promotion of environmental safety and awareness in their manufacture of energy saving lamps, international company Megaman will be strengthening its operation in the country after establishing its exclusive distributor, Megaman Philippines.

“The demand for energy saving lamps is continually increasing here in the Philippines so we are ready to expand our operations,” said Marketing Director Monika Mang of Neonlite Electronic and Lighting Ltd., Megaman’s Hong Kong base in an interview with reporters.

Mang said that the Philippines is a big market for them but currently Megaman is not yet positioned strongly in the residential and industrial lighting sector. But believing that this is the right time to further pursue the Philippines, they have joined ventures with Cebu Home Builders and established Megaman Philippines to distribute their products nationwide and to increase their market share.

With the government putting a ban for the use of incandescent light bulbs in 2010 which are said to cause cancer and other environmentally hazardous effects such as global warming, CO2 emission, land pollution, among others, Mang pointed out that, “there is tremendously a booming demand for CFL (compact fluorescent lamps) in the global marketplace and with the ban on incandescent bulbs, we are seeing brighter positive prospects for growth here in the Philippines.”

Megaman will be targeting the consumer mass market as well as the widely-segmented industrial market and architectural and lighting industry here in the country.

“Not everyone knows who Megaman is in the mass market but we are looking for significant growth in sales and market share this year. We believe that our entrance is a perfect timing because the Philippines’ consumer market is already ready for us,” she further added

As compared to other lamps, Mang pointed out that Megaman is more focused on manufacturing energy saving lamps and utilizing new and better innovations.

“Quality innovation is our main philosophy in our business. Megaman gives so much emphasis on technology, research and development to provide different solutions to our consumers,” Mang added.
