PhilExport-Cebu to open training center by 1st sem

-

PhilExport-Cebu is set to open the Export Training Center (ETC) within the first semester of this year, following the completion of training of 40 Local Experts (Les), in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

These consultants are expected to conduct its first training program and consultancy services in Cebu soon.

Netherlands’ Center for the Promotion of Imports from the Developing Countries (CBI) has formally certified about 40 export consultants from the Philippines, mostly from Cebu, to help the ailing export industry here.

Philexport Cebu, in consultation with CBI experts, has already come up with a Business Plan for the ETC.

It is where the 40 Local Experts will be conducting training of exporters. Export Coaching will also be facilitated by the Export Training Center to help SME companies and its employees.

After going through rigid four-week training on Export Marketing and Management in Cebu as well as in Rotterdam, in Netherlands, the Local Experts (Les) were given their certificate of completion by the Dutch government. The graduation was held at the NH Atlanta Hotel in Rotterdam last week.

PhilExport-Cebu announced that these local experts will soon be able to help their industry-mates in Cebu, as soon as they will back from Netherlands.

The trainees were intensely oriented into Sectoral Export Marketing Plans (SEMPS), for the different industries in Central Visiyas.

The final drafts of the SEMPs covering the six selected export sectors such as Food, Garments, Furniture, Home décor, fashion accessories, and medical tourism were present at the CBI Headquarters in Rotterdam in front of a panel of product experts and specialists.

According to PhilExport, the SEMPs will be used by the Local Experts as their guide when they are fielded to help SME companies which do not have an Export Marketing Plan (EMPs) yet.

The focus of the EU Export Marketing and Management Training is to help the players in the export industry in the Philippines, specifically Cebu, to draw up their strategic export marketing plans covering new markets such as European Union states which now increased in membership to 27 countries.

The conclusion will serve as basis to come up with a strategy that will help the sector or company select the most suitable market, create the most promising products and devise a market entry strategy that suits the capacity of the sector or company,” said PhilExport-Cebu in a statement. – Ehda M.
