M. Lhuillier renews deal with security alarm firm

Now on their 12th year of providing 24/7 Alert and Notifications System, SSMi recently sealed another two-year deal with ML Financial Services for its Vis-Min branches.

Security and Systems Monitoring, Inc. (SSMi) monitoring service for M. Lhuillier started in 2002 and back then they received around 10 false alarms per day but after proper upgrade and maintenance servicing, it was reduced to three or four in six month’s time.

SSMi General Manager and VP for Sales and Marketing Leonardo C. Sylianco, Jr. said in an interview that nowadays, people are more security-conscious, which is definitely not the same as it was before.

He said that as an electronic security alarm company, SSMi serves as the link between clients and the authorities as they have the endorsement of the national headquarters of PNP as a 24/7 Alarm and notification System.

They receive the alarm signals and are the one who report to the authorities in terms of incidents such as robbery or fire.

As of the moment, SSMi is already servicing about 2,000 clients. “Our operation has been very positive and we are growing by double digits every year,” said Sylianco.

In a separate interview, M. Lhuillier Vice-president Michael L. Lhuillier noted that alarm systems play a very significant part of the operation of a company like M. Lhuillier which deals with a lot of cash, jewelry and high-value merchandise.

“We need the services of a reputable company like SSMi for the security of our business. Our relationship with SSMi for these past five years has proven  that the services they offer is very beneficial for us as it is a cost-efficient way of keeping our outlets safe,” said Lhuillier.

According to Sylianco that one of the distinct advantages of SSMi being a national monitoring station is their state-of-the-art monitoring system having multiple UL and ULC-approved receiving equipments with multiple lines that guarantee signals to be quickly received.

According to him, other stations use monitoring equipment suitable only for monitoring residential complexes that only have one or two lines but a national Central Monitoring System (CMS) is always an advantage from a local CMS because of it’s IT or Telco infrastructure wherein redundancy is always in place which most local CMS do not have. “The bigger the scope the systems gets, much better as more accounts are monitored,” he said.

SSMi can receive alarms of all kinds of devices like alarm panels, fire panels, video, computer, cell phone, radio and over the internet or VPN for the highest security measure.

For 2007 alone, SSMi have more than 30 real fire and break-ins which were aborted and caused very minimal or no losses at all for clients.

“We have been able to receive positive testimonials from our clients as we have been able to avoid big losses and they were happy to utilize our services in their business,” said Sylianco.

With a wide clientele from banks, financial institutions to industrial and commercial businesses, SSMi sees a very big market for Cebu to tap having touched only about two percent of the market. “Our growth potential in Cebu is very bright,” he stressed. – Rhia de Pablo
