THE SPONGEE STORY: From pastime to flourishing business

-

Special occasions are always made special by cakes that often serve as center pieces.

‘Spongee Homemade Cakes and Goodies’ makes special gatherings worth remembering.  With their personalized and made-to-order cakes, customers will surely make excuses to hold parties and gatherings.

The owner Anmie Soliano, shared that her business with cakes and goodies started as a hobby.  This passion for sweets later turned out to be one of her sources of income. At first, she baked only for her or her friends’ consumption. Until she discovered that this could provide her good investment.

What started as a pastime became business when she officially opened at Looc, Maribago, Lapu- Lapu City November of 2005.

Today, Spongee Homemade Cakes and Goodies’ enjoys serving a significant number of orders in a week.  Holidays and special seasons like Christmases and New Years are considered peak moments for Spongee.

‘Spongee Homemade Cakes and Goodies’ offers cakes for all occasions, from low end to high end customers, keeping the same quality of their service.  Its unique styles, personalized designs and freshly-baked cakes keep Spongee different from others in the same field.

Despite the business’ young age, the manpower and minds behind ‘Spongee Homemade Cakes and Goodies’ already learned a lot of things. “We learned to be patient with customers because each one of them has different demands.” Soliano shared.

They simply give importance to every single and small detail of their customers’ needs. – Queenie Sue M. Bajenting,  USJ-R intern
