Standing for “hodge-podge” which means a fusion of good and new things, Resto Eklektik aims to cater to different tastes and unique interests of Cebuanos that they said everyone should look out for.
“We don’t want to be known as the usual restaurant because we want to cater to different kinds of people, different interests and different tastes,” said Dra. Marivic Vestal, co-owner of Resto Eklektik in an interview with The Freeman during their grand opening last Friday at the Talamban Leisure Center.
Partners Dra. Vestal, Dr. Dennis Tudtud, who is also the owner of the whole Talamban Leisure Center property and their Events and Operations Manager Leonice Mae Piñero are quite optimistic that slowly but surely, the restaurant will gain recognition not just in the Talamban area but as well as in the whole city.
As newbies in the restaurant business, the unique partnership between two doctors and a medical representative has huge potential to hit big in the city’s restaurant district as they believe that a similar concept like theirs still haven’t been ventured into. “The concept has been playing in our minds for a long time; so, once we saw the place, the vision we have in our minds just gelled and so we’ve started doing the business,” Dra. Marivic shared.
The word “eklektik” came from the Greek derivation of “eklekticus” which means “eclectic” in English and is synonymous to words diverse and varied as they offer a wide array of unique events, dishes and services like no other.
The place has a chic ambiance with its romantic garden setting. But despite its upscale look, the partners said that they welcome customers from all walks of life as they don’t want to gain the impression of being a snobbish place meant only for the high end market.
Something entirely different from the usual, Resto Eklektik promises so much more than your usual restaurant as it aims to give unique experiences with their unique events and exciting gimmicks. They host different events and functions like speed dating, bazaars, cultural shows, exhibits, movie discussions, performance nights, corporate events, parties and celebrations. They also offer catering services for dinner.
Among their upcoming events is the Christmas Bazaar scheduled from December 1 to 15 and Paranormal Society’s Halloween Festival that will feature booths from different paranormal orgs and the much-awaited Hallows’ Eve Ball.
