Google urges entrepreneurs to go online

-

“Entrepreneurs have to have campaigns both for online and offline consumers because there will come a day that most of them will go online,” said Google, Inc. Philippine Country Consultant Aileen Apolo at the Business Forum of the Mandaue Business Month held recently.

Internet marketing according to Apollo will be helpful especially to small businesses that are aiming to expand its operation and gain more customer base.

“Marketers should not stay in one platform to communicate products and services because there are so many facets already. It has become important to create sight, sound and e-motion for your marketing schemes,” added Apolo.

From the 60s to the 80s, there were fewer ads but now we are bombarded with lots of marketing messages in different ways anywhere we go. Media these days have become a diverse tool used to inform the public ranging from the traditional types like print, television, radio to blogs, pod casting, web hosting, and internet sourcing. For consumers, Apolo said that this shift is good news as product proliferation and availability means more choices for buyers.

Acording to AC Nielsen surveys, 30% of consumers are spending their time “on-line” greatly suggesting that efficient allocation of marketing expenditure is by thus utilizing and focusing on reaching out to this huge segment of the market.

In her presentation, Apolo underscored the importance of internet marketing in an enterprise venture and the need for entrepreneurs to utilize technology in this “internet savvy generation” to make their business processes easier, fruitful and productive.

“On-line advertising is a new way of looking for prospective market; hence marketers should be there to cater to the ‘always on-line’ internet generation,” stressed Apolo.

With this industry needs, Google is determined to aid industry players by providing amazing resource creating criteria that will make products and services effectively marketed on-line.

Managing the chaos of the so-called “customer-centric world,” the evolution of Google products has made way for Google Apps. This provides marketers with Gmail web-based system that will help them view important information and can be started within seconds. It can also allow businesses to write labels products, utilize email system, Gtalk, Gvideo, organize a company calendar which is free and a do-it-your-own application. – Rhia de Pablo
