Our new place in the paper
We’re moving to a new location today and we hope that our readers would not have a hard time looking for Motorists’ Corner, which will now come out as part of the Business Section.
There have been some changes in the sections of The FREEMAN and we’ve decided to incorporate Transportation with Business as we also launched the Regions section last week.
So, from this day on, until further notice of course, Motorists’ Corner shall be in the Business section. Sounds like an upgrade to business class when we ride our favorite airline.

The past many weeks have been spent on the traffic situation in the Banilad-Talamban area for the reason that thousands of people get stuck in the jam there everyday.

I would like to commend Mayor Jonas Cortes for his concern in the traffic situation in
I still read some negative comments and complaints about Mandaue traffic so I couldn’t help but to send you mine. Lately, I see a lot of yellow shirted traffic volunteers in lots of strategic corners manning the traffic. I feel assured and a sense of relief in knowing that our local government leaders are doing their jobs to make our citizens’ lives easier by dealing with traffic. If we can’t have flyovers or interchange or wide roads, we can deal with the problem by having strict, effective and dedicated traffic enforcers.
I hope Mayor Jonas Cortes will continue maintaining and keeping the yellow-shirt volunteers in tip top shape for traffic enforcement in the years to come.

We also got several complaints about the lack of CITOM enforcers in key areas. Our sources say that the lack of enforcers is not only a problem of deployment, but a problem of hiring.
We hope that the city government can address this matter immediately.
