Triggered by surging demand, Deca Homes developer 8990 Housing Development Corporation, plans to develop thousands of low to middle end houses in Metro Cebu in the next few years.
According to Annie M. Barabat, the company's assistant general manager, for its 19-hectare Deca Homes project in Minglanilla in the southern part, about 2,288 houses will be built by the company in a couple of years.
Currently, the phase one of Minglanilla Deca Homes already sold out 613 housing units, and it is now promoting a total of 619 houses, 117 of which were already sold. The Minglanilla project, has six phases.
The company's Mactan Island project, has disposed a total of 570 houses, while another 450 homes are currently being built.
The 8990 Housing Development Corporation is a Cebu-based residential developer, of which majority of its projects are targeted to the middle to lower income markets.
There are already at least seven Deca Homes subdivisions in Metro Cebu, these include project 8 located in Mandaue City, barangay Bacayan (Talamban), Minglanilla, in Barangay Tunghaan (Minglanilla), Danao, in Barangay Tisa, Labangon, and in Mactan.
The company has also started to invest in Davao for subdivision projects in which it already disposed close to 2,000 housing units, and another a little over 3,060 available lots and houses will be offered.
Barabat said there is a strong demand for affordable house and lot products in Cebu, especially in the northern part of the province.
Although, there is an encouraging market take up in its southern bound developments, she said demand for house and lot package in northern part is stronger compared to that of projects located in the southern part of Cebu.
Next year, the company is going to construct at least 600 homes in its Minglanilla and Mactan subdivisions. Another 400 houses will be built in Minglanilla in the first quarter of 2007, while about 200 will be constructed in the same period in Mactan.
Bulks of the company's buyers are families of Overseas Foreign Workers (OFWs), entrepreneurs, and monthly earners-or the employees.
It's partnership with Pag-ibig Fund boosted the company's house and lot package take-up, as most buyers were able to own homes through Pag-ibig financing.
The company is also the developer of Villa Leyson subdivision in Talamban, and Velle Pal subdivision in Minglanilla.
