LUYM-operated shopping mall, The Mango Square, has utilized events and other attractive activities in the mall to lure shoppers and mall goers.
Mango Square center marketing officer and event director John Lo said the mall will be introducing a series of events and activities designed to encourage people to come to the mall, amid the financial hard ups.
"Financial constraints most of the times discourage people to go to malls. This is why we have decided to conceptualize events and other activities that will lure people to come to Mango Square. This will also help build our relationship with the mall goers," he said.
One of these activities is the "Weekend Challenge," which will be held every Saturday. In this activity, Mango Square will invite local as well as Manila-based celebrities such as models, actors and singers.
This Saturday, aside from the challenge itself, there will also be other entertainment activities to happen simultaneously in the mall such as song and dance presentations.
"Weekend Challenge" on Saturday will feature the candidates of Ms. South Pacific beauty pageant. The first ever pageant in Cebu, which is part of the celebration of the Kadaugan sa Mactan Festival, will be held on April 28 at the Maribago Blue Waters in Mactan.
The Mango Square will also hold a Mango Fashion Festival on March 18, wherein it will dress its models with the outfits and accessories sold by the tenants of the mall's bazaar.
"This activity is also one way of helping them promote their products," Lo said.
He said the choice of the models itself would also be different, as the organizer will choose from the mall goers. Beginning last Monday, Lo has been scouting for pretty faces inside the Mango Square.
"It would be fulfilling especially if our choices will be discovered by agents while doing the fashion show with us. At least, we are instruments of their success," Lo said.
The three-day 4th Cyclus Bike and Auto Show, which will kick-off on Friday, will also be held at the Mango Square
Shopping malls now are not just a mere shopping facilities for consumers, but malls are now becoming an all-in-one destination facility which offers shopping, dining, entertainment, leisure, lifestyle, unique services, among others.
