Amara lots sell like hotcakes at opening

More than 80 percent of the initially released lots of the premier seaside residential project of Cebu Holdings Inc., Amara, have been taken barely after two days since the selling kicked-off.

Amara is the second high-end residential development project by the Ayala Group in Cebu, after the Ayala Heights Cebu was launched few years back.

Buyers and brokers alike lined up as early at 6:30 in the morning Wednesday last week during the official opening of the sales blitz, to be prioritized in the selection of lots available at Phase 1 which includes courtyard, promontory, seaview and esplanade lots.

Amara, a joint development project of CHI and Coastal Highpoint Ventures Development Inc. (CHVI), is a 46-hectare property located at Liloan, Cebu, approximately 18 kilometers from the city. One of the very few lighthouse communities in the world, Amara is a perfect balance between the elements of nature and a master-planned design. Amara will provide the ideal resort-inspired residential enclave for families who can enjoy rustic, seaside ambiance just minutes from the city.

Due to the overwhelming response even before selling started, developer CHI had to implement a prioritization system for lot selection among interested buyers.

"We devised the system to be fair and just to all brokers and buyers by giving everyone a fair chance to choose their lots," CHI president Rene Almendras explained.

"At the end of the day, most people walked away happy because after all, all our lots are choice lots," he added.

Amara has a total of over 500 lots in its five phases. Due to the unprecedented demand for lots, developer CHI is set to fast-track the launch of Phase 2.

This latest multi-million peso residential project of CHI will be officially launched tonight at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino. The event will be graced by Ayala Group chairman Fernando Zobel de Ayala.

Amara project is primarily targeted for ultra-high end buyers who are looking for a living that offers something beyond standard, said CHI vice president for marketing and sales Tetta Ba-ad.

Secondary target market of the project will be families of dollar earner consumers, overseas workers and millionaires who have Cebuano roots, as well as millionaires around the country.

CHI's partner the CHVI led by president Antonio N. Chiu said this development will prominently put the sleepy town of Lilo-an on the Philippine map.
