The Pokemon Company ushers in Pokemon XP, worlds US weekend
SAN FRANCISCO, United States — The Pokemon Company opened festivities for the Pokemon XP and Pokemon World Championships 2026 with a bang here.
The Pokemon craze hit Rayquaza Road all the way to the Oracle Park, where the beloved Pikachu gained a share of the spotlight during the Major League Baseball match between the San Francisco Giants and the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Also drumming up interest for this massive Pokemon weekend was Luke Whittier, last year’s Pokemon Worlds VGC champion, who threw the first pitch.
A spectacular drone show capped things off at the ballpark, where the home team ran away with a 6-1 victory.
The Pokemon World Championships kick off Friday at the Moscone Center (Saturday Manila time).
The festivities are part of The Pokemon Company’s 30th anniversary celebrations.
