LTO-7 intensifies plate replacement
CEBU, Philippines — A week after launching its aggressive plate replacement campaign, the Land Transportation Office in Central Visayas (LTO-7) has intensified efforts to bring replacement license plates closer to motorists across the region.
Since June 15, personnel from LTO-7 have been locating vehicles with available replacement plates, verifying records, and facilitating the release of the plates through district offices.
As part of the initiative, information flyers are being placed on vehicles to inform owners that their replacement plates may already be ready for claiming and to indicate the district office where they can be obtained.
Motorists whose vehicles still carry the old green license plates may expect to find an LTO-7 flyer attached to their windshields in the coming days.
The campaign is being implemented under the directive of Regional Director Wendel Dinglasan, who ordered the agency to proactively identify plate owners and expedite the distribution of replacement plates instead of waiting for motorists to visit LTO offices.
“Many of our motorists are unaware that their replacement plates are already available. That is why we will no longer wait for them to come to the LTO. We will go directly to the communities, locate vehicles with available replacement plates, and leave information so owners can claim them easily,” Dinglasan said.
“Our goal is to bring government service closer to the people and ensure that every plate in our custody is released to its rightful owner as soon as possible,” he added.
He further said that the campaign aims to accelerate the release of long-awaited replacement plates and improve public access to government services across Central Visayas. RP. (CEBU NEWS)
