MANILA, Philippines - Samsung Electronics Philippines Corp. (SEPCO) announced the launch of Samsung Monte (model: S5620), its new full touch-screen device for style-conscious mobile users.
The handset is packed with a host of multimedia features wrapped in a sleek seamless design and glossy outer casing, providing the style and performance of a high-end handset at a pocket-friendly price.
With a stunning contrasting gray and black casing and an intuitive TouchWiz 2.0 Plus User Interface, the Monte is set to become the latest must-have full-touch device.
Equally, the Samsung Monte has a lot to offer to the social network-savvy consumer with a suite of social networking applications, including Facebook and MySpace, allowing users to access their profiles whenever and wherever they choose.
This is teamed with advanced multi-IM capability using the Palringo application to provide users with the opportunity to chat real-time via their chosen service.
In addition, Monte users can enjoy full Internet brow-sing using either their Wi-Fi connectivity or advanced HSDPA/3G capabilities, with an accelerometer sensor allowing the onscreen image to automatically adjust as the user rotates the phone.
To become the perfect accompaniment to a connected lifestyle, the Monte includes Google Maps, ensuring the user to know where he is — and can keep his friends updated on his location — at all times.
This combines with geo-tagging, allowing users to imprint their photos with geographic tags to share their travels and experiences with friends.
Other connectivity features include optional anytime, anywhere Wi-Fi connectivity, Exchange ActiveSync and HSDPA 3.6Mbps and 3G connectivity.

To showcase this feature rich and stylish handset, the Monte comes equipped with a 3.1-inch WQVGA LCD screen with 16:9 landscape viewing.
It also boasts a 3.2-megapixel camera with many value-added features, including smile shot, panorama shot, and face detection.
In addition, the handset features an embedded music search service, Find Music, which allows users to identify their favourite bands and download music direct to their phone — which they can listen to anytime using a host of enhanced multimedia features using a 3.5-mm ear jack for optimum music connectivity.
For convenience, the phone also supports Smart Unlock and one-finger zoom.
The Samsung Monte is now available in all authorized Samsung Mobile dealer shops nationwide with a suggested retail price of P11,000.
