For fashionistas and collectors

Limited edition phones, anyone?

That’s what Siemens does occasionally, coming out with limited edition mobiles for both collectors and fashionistas. Its latest offerings: the SL55 Escada and SX1 McLaren.

The SL55 Escada is a slider phone so one-of-a-kind with its fuchsia casing and pink keypad, surely an attention-getter. Wear it and it becomes a fashion accessory.

Complementing the stylish design is the SL55 Escada’s power-packed features. It has a 4,096-color display and MMS capability. Talk, too, about synchronizing your mobile with your PC, or surfing the Internet with its GPRS functionality.

Familiar with Formula 1. Well, there’s the SX1 McLaren, a limited edition mobile developed jointly with West McLaren Mercedes for the Formula 1 season.

The tri-band SX1 McLaren has a built-in video camera to record those zooming racing cars, which can later be viewed on its high-resolution, 65,536-color display. No problem with storing the pics and clips; it has a MultiMedia Card slot for memory expansion. For that multimedia experience, it also has an MP3 player and FM radio.

And yes, the sleek black SX1 McLaren also boasts of an innovative design with its alphanumeric keypads vertically on the sides. That’s how hands-on you can get with this unique handset.
