MANILA, Philippines - Get ready for a new dimension in adventure racing with the Berghaus Urban Adventure Games.
The Berghaus Urban Adventure Games takes adventure racing to the digital age on Nov. 15 at the Globe Circuit Event Grounds in Makati City. The games are held in and in conjunction with the 2014 Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour.
Featuring the first app-based race format, teams of three members each will receive their challenges on their cell phones as they race to accumulate points before the clock runs out. The adventure challenges include obstacles, testing strength at CrossFit stations, solving riddles, puzzles, and running around the grounds of Circuit Park Makati in a digitized scavenger hunt.
Participants and spectators can track their progress in real time as team scores will be available online throughout the day.
Teams may opt to join the fun, competitive, or elite categories. The fun category will be scored but not timed, while “Competitive” and elite teams will be given a limited time to complete as many challenges and accumulate as many points as possible. All challenges will be held in the Globe Circuit Event Grounds in Makati City.
The Berghaus Urban Adventure Race is organized by Cyburban, an innovator in app-based adventure racing, adding a new dimension of interactivity to the traditional adventure racing format.
Registration fees are P2,400 for fun category, P2,700 for competitive, and P3,000 for elite. Cash prizes will be awarded to the first place teams of all three categories.
Registration branches are Toby’s Sports Shangri-la Plaza, Toby’s Sports Glorietta 2, Toby’s The Block, RUNNR Bonifacio High Street, and Toby’s Sports SM Mall of Asia.
