About G Mark
The Good Design Award has its origins in the Good Design Selection System (known as the G-Mark System) instituted by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry of Japan in 1957.
It was established based on the belief that good design is important in improving life after the Pacific War, thus awards are given based on whether or not a product can enrich society and people’s lives through its design.
To date, some 35,000 Good Design Awards have already been awarded to different companies worldwide.
