Acer strengthens Aspire line with new Intel chips

MANILA, Philippines - To make sure that its latest batch of laptop products is up to people’s expectations, Acer, one of the world’s most trusted computer makers, has strengthened its Aspire line of notebooks with the new Intel processors.

The Acer Aspire Series, composed of the Acer Aspire 4740, Acer Aspire 4740G, and the Acer Aspire 5942G, are all powered by the newest Intel Core processor products like the i3, i5 and i7. These are some of the most advanced processors responsible for delivering incredible PC performance at the quad-core level.

The Acer Aspire 4740G is powered by the Intel Core i3-330M (2.13GHz, 3MB L3 Cache, DDR3 1066MHz FSB, 35W) processor that enables multi-tasking of applications at blinding speeds.

This powerful processor is ably supported by the Mobile Intel HM55 Express chipset for better performance and together with a 2GB DDR3 memory, allows for a simultaneous processing of different demanding applications where other PCs with lesser firepower would have normally conked out.

Graphics quality is another plus, assured this time by the Acer Aspire 4740G’s NVIDIA GeForce 310M with 512MB of dedicated DDR3 VRAM that supports NVIDIA CUDA, PhysX, PureVideo HD technology, Open EXR High Dynamic-Range (HDR) technology, and Shader Model 4.0.

But graphics power cannot stand on its own without proper display qualities, which the Acer Aspire 4740G has with its 14-inch high-definition, high-brightness Acer CineCrystal LED-backlit TFT LCD display that makes videos and images spring up with life-like quality and realism.

Enough storage space is also assured with the 500GB SATA hard drive, an 8x DVD-SuperMulti double-layer optical drive to play and record digital files onto CD or DVD, built-in wireless LAN for assured wireless connectivity, and a built-in Acer CrystalEye webcam for face-to-face communication with colleagues, friends, family and relatives wherever they may be.

Its sibling, the Acer Aspire 4740, on the other hand, comes with an Intel Core i5-430M (3MB L3 Cache, 2.26GHz with Turbo Boost up to 2.53, DDR3 1066MHz FSB, 35W) processor with the same chipset as that of the Aspire 4740G.

Graphics-wise, the Aspire 4740 carries the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD with 128MB of dedicated system memory.

Both the display screens of Acer Aspire 4740 and Acer Aspire 4740G support simultaneous multi-window viewing through the Acer GridVista.

And just like the Acer Aspire 4740G, the Acer Aspire 4740 has built-in wireless LAN for effortless connectivity and Acer CrystalEye webcam for flawless communication, a huge file house of 320GB SATA hard drive, an 8x SuperMulti DVD drive, and genuine Windows 7 Home Basic that runs the whole thing and makes this beauty of a laptop a truly admirable gadget for the 21st century.

Finally, the Acer Aspire 5942G is the other member of the Acer laptop family with the new Intel processors.

This one has the Intel Core i7-720QM (1.60GHz up to 2.80GHz, 6MB L3 Cache, DDR3 1333MHz FSB) processor at the heart of the system for superb computing capability.

Partnering this processor with the Mobile Intel HM55 Express chipset and a 4GB DDR3 1066MHz memory module assures efficient multi-tasking and effective powerhouse performance of the most demanding applications there is today.

Display size is slightly larger with its 15.6-inch high-definition, high-brightness Acer CineCrystal TFT LCD display for vivid and realistic videos and images that spring to life, courtesy of the ATI Mobility Radeon HD5650 with 1GB of dedicated DDR3 VRAM graphics card.

This package promises jaw-dropping quality that lets you enjoy watching your favorite movies, music or graphics-intensive games all on a frame-less display for no-shrills, no-frills entertainment whether at home with the family or at the office with colleagues.

Storing these space-hungry files is also convenient with the Acer Aspire 5942G’s 640GB SATA hard drive.
