The top winners of the Office Olympics will represent the Philippines in a global competition which will be held in the United States.
The competition is based on the Microsoft Office Specialist Certification exams where contestants will work hands-on with an Office XP application to solve specific problems or to do detailed tasks (for example, formatting a paragraph in Word, or using a formula in Excel). Each category will be conducted at the university, regional and national levels.
Champions at the university level will compete in the regional level in October. Regional winners will be sent to Manila to vie for the national title.
Two national winners will be proclaimed: one for Microsoft Word, and another for Microsoft Excel.
Aside from the trip to the US, winners will also get an Xbox game console while their schools will receive 10 licenses of Office XP and two Microsoft Press books.
Universities and colleges interested in joining the Office Olympics can visit www.microsoft.com/philippines or call Microsoft Support Services at (632) 886-5658 for details.
