Warm compress eases the pain

MANILA, Philippines - Most people immediately resort to readily available over-the-counter (OTC) drugs whenever they feel various body aches and discomforts.

As the weather gets cooler this season, many people, particularly those with arthritis, will likely start experiencing body aches, muscle pains and joint pains.

Most drugs are made of chemical substances that by nature are not part of the human body and are therefore should be avoided as much as possible.

A much safer alternative to medical drug treatments are conventional treatment methods such as using a warm compress for relieving various body pains.

This problem of convenience with a warm compress, however, has been addressed by using electric hot water bags, and one such product currently out in the market is the Tai Chi Warm Compress.

An electric water bag is basically a permanently sealed bag of water that can be heated just by plugging it into a power outlet for five to 10 minutes.

The heat from a warm compress can penetrate tissues to relieve pain, increase blood circulation and bring in more oxygen which could then help the body in cleansing itself from toxin to promote natural healing. This gives pain relief and reduces inflammation.

It can also facilitate the stretching of connective tissue, soften adhesion, decrease stiffness and increase flexibility of the spine and of the joints which would ease chronic pain of arthritis and of back and neck injuries. It is also capable of relieving migraine pains.

Tai Chi Warm Compress and other Tai Chi products like liniments and rubs are available in all leading drugstores and supermarkets nationwide.
