MANILA, Philippines - Reliv International, manufacturer and distributor of patented nutritional supplements in 15 countries worldwide, has announced a new joint research and development partnership with the Missouri Plant Science Center in the United States and its managing tenant Soy Labs, LLC.
This team-up will further strengthen Reliv’s status in the industry as provider of high-quality nutritional products.
Its local subsidiary, Reliv Philippines, was opened in 2001 and has been distributing premium nutritional supplements, including five patented products, all over the country — Reliv Classic and Reliv Now for essential daily nutrition; Innergize! energy and sports drink; Slimplicity for weight-loss; Arthaffect for healthy joints; FibRestore for heart health; Reliv Now for Kids for children’s nutrition; Glucaffect for blood sugar management; and ReversAge for healthy aging.
The MPSC is a brilliant collaboration among universities, industries and governments designed to provide companies with a platform to encourage innovation and aggressive growth.
Soy Labs is a research-driven nutraceutical company that focuses on delivering high-quality soy ingredients to health supplement formulators and manufacturers.
Reliv is the first company selected to partner with MPSC and Soy Labs. Through the partnership, Reliv will have greater access to soy and plant biotechnology research as well as government, university and corporate partner resources.
Furthermore, Reliv will gain access and benefit from exclusive ingredient innovations and will have more opportunities for clinical studies.
“Soy Labs has already produced breakthroughs in soy ingredients that Reliv will consider for use in new products,” said Reliv’s chief scientific officer Dr. Carl Hastings.
He said Reliv’s goal is to continue to push the envelope in new and exciting ways and more actively seek out undiscovered possibilities for advanced nutritional solutions.
“With Reliv’s track record of innovation in the nutrition industry, I cannot think of a better partner for the type of groundbreaking work that will take place at the MPSC,” said Soy Labs president Ryan Schmidt.
The center will combine the most advanced plant science research with pilot manufacturing capabilities. Scientific researchers, business and industry experts will work together at the plant center to move concepts from the laboratory to production and finally to the global marketplace.
Schmidt was among the special guests at the annual Reliv Philippines Leadership Conference last Oct. 22 at the SMX Convention Center.
He was joined by Soy Labs lead scientific advisor and 2010 PhilDev awardee Dr. Alfredo Galvez, who also delivered a special health presentation about soy.
