With this acquisition, the hospital joins more than a thousand modern hospitals worldwide equipped with an accurate and well-calibrated machine which can evaluate patients with various types of allergy.
Founded as an SSS community hospital in 1968 by Dr. Abelardo Perez, an EENT specialist, and his wife, Rose Martha Perez, a US-trained nurse, the Saint Patricks Hospital is now a medical center and a member in good standing of the Philippine Hospitals Association and the Private Hospitals Association of the Philippines.
It is also accredited by the Medical Care Commission as a tertiary level hospital.
Upgrading its services has always been one of the important goals of this hospital. One of its facilities is the Hyperbaric Chamber believed to be the only one of its kind in the Philippines.
The Hyperbaric Chamber is used to treat not only decompression illness ("the bends") in divers but also other conditions like carbon monoxide poisoning, gangrene, bone infection, skin grafts, burns, crash injuries and some non-healing wounds, making the hospital and Batangas the center of hyperbaric medicine and wound healing.
With its recent acquisition of Pharmacias fully automated UniCAP100E, the Saint Patricks Hospital now prides itself as the center for automated testing of allergy, asthma and autoimmune diseases in Batangas and in the entire Calabarzon (Cavite-Laguna-Batangas-Rizal-Quezon) area.
