MANILA, Philippines - The Medical City Clark, a world-class healthcare facility built at the Central Luzon ecozone, is on track for its grand opening in December this year.
The hospital is the maiden infrastructure to be established within the Sabah Al-Ahmad Global Gateway Logistics City (GGLC), a key development project of Global Gateway Development Corp. (GGDC) in Clark, Pampanga.
Company officials said the hospital is currently over 95 percent complete and will be ready for the planned opening on Dec. 8.
GGDC has partnered with the TMC Group, a leading healthcare provider in the Philippines with over 40 years in hospital operation and administration, to build and operate The Medical City Clark.
“The Medical City Clark will be completed ahead of schedule and in time for its planned opening of Dec. 8 of this year,” said Dr. Cenon R. Alfonso, CEO of The Medical City Clark.
The 150-bed hospital is located within GGLC, a master-planned mixed-use aerotropolis that is the first of its kind in the country. The hospital is being developed as a state-of-the-art, energy-efficient and technology-enabled smart building, including a fully integrated Cisco platform and complementary 10G fiber network.
GGDC was originally founded by The Port Fund, a private equity fund managed by KGL Investment Co. (KGLI) whose investors largely consist of the shareholders of the government entities of Kuwait and other Gulf countries.
The widely acclaimed TMC Group manages a number of hospitals, clinics and specialty care units, including The Medical City Pasig, a globally-competitive medical complex in Ortigas City that serves about 40,000 in-patients and 400,000 out-patients annually.
The Medical City Clark, once completed and operational, is expected to have a significant socioeconomic impact in Central Luzon, including the creation of jobs and the delivery of high-quality healthcare services to the residents of Clark and neighboring areas.
