MANILA, Philippines - At the recent BCI Asia Top 10 Architects awarding ceremonies held last May 26, 2009 at the Renaissance Hotel Makati, G&W Architects with chairman Arch Gilbert C. Yu, one of the country’s leading architectural firms, won the first ever BCI Asia Green Award in the Philippines for their design of the TEXAS INSTRUMENTS PROJECT in Baguio City. Accepting the award in his behalf was the top-notch G&W team headed by Architect Daniel Terence Yu. Aside from being included in the prestigious BCI Asia Top 10 Architects, G&W was honored for their exemplary efforts in building projects that focus on Eco-friendly Environmental Design as a means to encourage “GREEN“ design consciousness in the Construction industry.
The winning entry, The TEXAS INSTRUMENTS PROJECT in Baguio City, is currently the FIRST and ONLY building in the Philippines to be certified SILVER LEED Certification by the US Green Building Council (USGBC). LEED, a globally accepted standard, is a Green rating tool established by the USGBC as a means to rate the Environment Friendly Designs and energy efficiency of buildings that aims to reduce negative impact on the environment.
