Appraisal, property management course

MANILA, Philippines - The Chamber of Real Estate & Builders Associations, Inc. (CREBA) and the De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPaCE) announced the latest course for the year entitled “Real Estate Appraisal and Property Management” for six consecutive Saturdays beginning March 21 until May 2. The course is the fourth of six modules being offered for a diploma in real estate management.

Topics include: introduction to the realty appraisal profession, new international valuation standards, roles of property valuation in business, feasibility studies in real estate, approaches to land and property values, site location and map reading, leasing and tenant relations, including master deed of restrictions and contracts preparation; property and asset management, real estate investment guidelines and an introduction to the real estate consultancy profession.

Course director is Realtor Robert Marie “Bobby” C. Sy, past president of various distinguished associations of real estate professionals, such as Philippine Associations of realtors Boards (PAREB), FIABCI – The International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI)-Philippine chapter, Philippine Association of Realty Appraisers (PARA), Institute of Philippine Real Estate Consultants (IPREC), and CREBA Bulacan Chapter.

Sy himself took this diploma course and finished among the top of his class in 2002. He said he recognized the value of continuing education and the competence of the organizers and faculty behind this program. It has been providing, he said, “the first-of-its-kind professional approach to real estate education in the Philippines for seven years now.”

Overall program director is Prof. Roque A. Magno, former Housing & Land Use Regulatory Board commissioner and presently, professorial lecturer at the UP School of Urban and Regional Planning.
