WSI is the driving force behind eight successful runs of the World Building and Construction Exposition (Worlbex). Now on its ninth show, topping Worldbexs list of goals for this year is to bolster the local construction industry, quipped Joseph Ang, founding chairman of WSI.
"One of our main objectives for this event is to strengthen the local construction industry in the Philippines and serve as a catalyst for local businessmen to forge global ties with big names in the industry, renew business partnerships, and link with major industry players added Ang.
The countrys need for housing projects, roads and bridges, commercial edifice and other infrastructure rises by the year to meet the needs of a growing population. Each year there are millions of housing needs in the country-including housing backlogs and new housing projects. The implementation of major infrastructure projects-such as the Light Rail Transit II and the Mass Rail Transit construction-remains on high gear to fill the growing need of accessibility and convenience for the public. All these trigger greater demands for building and construction materials and services. "The Philippines construction industry is undoubtedly a growing business" Ang said.
Keeping faith in the vast potentials of the Philippine construction sector, Ang believes it is the best time for the World Building and Construction Exposition. Worldbex 2004 gathers global market leaders and major industry players in a comprehensive exhibition of building and construction products, technology and services.
"With a generally positive review on the countrys domestic economy, the good showing of the agriculture sector and the economic programs being pushed by the government definitely helped the Philippine economy gain the momentum. All these augur well for the building and construction industry" explained Ang.
Worldbex is scheduled to run from March 16 to 20, 2004 at the World Trade Center (WTC) and adjoining Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC) in Pasay City. With a bigger exhibition space of 8,000 square meters.
Worldbex is now accepting exhibitors. Interested parties may call WSI at telephone numbers 531-6374 and 531-6350 or e-mail at info@worldbex.com. For additional information, log on to www.worldbex.com.
