MANILA, Philippines - Joining the global efforts to protect the environment, Philippine Allied Enterprises Corporation (PAEC), the exclusive Philippine distributors of Bridgestone, introduced the various ways the brand has been working toward reducing the impact of motoring on the eco-system and realizing the goal of a sustainable environment here in the Philippines.
Promoting the spirit of teamwork and fun, PAEC started the day by bringing together friends from the motoring industry and media through a morning of competitive yet friendly Eco-Adventure Race within the La Mesa Eco Park.
Apart from the refreshing change of racing on foot, participants also took part in the launch of the company’s tree-planting project, and witnessed the group’s commitment to sponsor the care and maintenance of Manila’s major water source by sponsoring one hectare of the La Mesa Watershed. Both activities were incorporated into the challenging race.
The highlight of the morning was the unveiling of the Bridgestone’s eco-friendly Ecopia during the barbeque celebration that culminated the adventure.
Ecopia is a fusion of ECOLOGY & UTOPIA, to represent Bridgestone’s Eco Activity, worldwide. The product promises eco-friendly performance by allowing reduced rolling resistance, which in turn enhances fuel efficiency. Ecopia also reduces the production of harmful carbon dioxide emissions that contribute to global warming.
“Now you can enjoy superior performance and superior levels of safety without compromising on the environment,” announced Mark Tagle, EVP-GM of PAEC.
The eco-technology that goes into Ecopia is also used in other green tires such as Potenza S001, RE002, 2nd-generation GR90. and the new Dueler 697. In tire design and development, Bridgestone defines three core elements as safety, comfort, and being environmentally friendly.
