Total Performance for the environment

MANILA, Philippines - Total (Philippines) Corporation employees from its Bataan Terminal took part in the 26th annual International Coastal Cleanup Day last September 17, organized by the municipality of Mariveles and Ocean Conservancy. Terminal management and staff joined the local residents, barangay officials, and Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP) cadets in cleaning up the coastline of Mariveles, Bataan.

This year’s coastal cleanup activity was made more valuable as it became an opportunity to analyze the waste collected. Through a standard data card provided by Ocean Conservancy, the participants logged the debris collected, which will later be used as guide for policy makers and community leaders in developing and implementing an effective campaign on waste reduction.

“This is an opportunity for us to put into action our commitment of contributing to the sustainable development of the environment,” said Total (Philippines) manager for corporate communications Malou Espina. “Cleaning the coastline along with our community partners shows our shared concern in caring for the environment,” she added.
