Goodyear launches new iPhone app for summer travel

MANILA, Philippines -  As motorists gear up for the summer travel, Goodyear launches an innovative iPhone app meant to make road travels hassle-free.

The Goodyear Highway Helper is a new app initially available for iPhone users. It features useful motoring information such as car and tire maintenance know-how, engine troubleshooting tips, and even a step-by-step guide on changing tires. This information is available alongside fun interactive phone games and quizzes.

A highlight of the Goodyear Highway Helper app is a service center locator and map feature powered by Google that allows users to find the nearest Goodyear Autocare, Servitek or Tyre Pro store in case motorists need to have their cars checked on their way to their destination.

And if users find themselves faced with emergency situations on the road, the Goodyear Highway Helper features a list of emergency numbers for taxi, towing, medical and police assistance across the nation.

“Safety is at the heart of everything we do in Goodyear and it is precisely this reason that we want to be able to keep people safe on the roads during this peak travel season,” says Ernest Estrera, Goodyear Marketing Director. “With this technology, we believe we are doing the right thing by empowering motorists with safety information at the critical times that they need it.”

The new app is available in all Asian countries including the Philippines and each country version can be downloaded from Apple iTunes.

This effort is only the latest addition to Goodyear’s digital experience for customers. Apart from the new Goodyear Highway Helper iPhone app, Goodyear has a highly interactive website that allows people to request for tire quotes online, as well as two Facebook pages (Goodyear Racing Asia and Bayani ng Kalsada) that engages customers about Goodyear’s racing news and Goodyear’s ongoing search for highway heroes.
