The new general manager of Mandarin Oriental, Manila Torsten van Dullemen was formally introduced in an elaborate reception that brought together prominent figures in the business, government, diplomatic, society, media and arts circles at the elegant The Tivoli restaurant. Manila Mandarin Hotel Inc. chairman Nonoy Colayco, concurrently the chairman of the Jardine Matheson Group in the Philippines, introduced the Dutch hotelier whose most recent post was as general manager at the Group’s Chiang Mai property. The Tivoli was filled with animated banter amid lively music and free flowing Moët & Chandon champagne, the perfect complement to the exquisite cocktail fare prepared by Executive Chef Rene Ottlik and his team, which drew compliments from the sophisticated crowd. Mandarin Oriental, Manila hotel manager Oliver Kreuzer and communications director Charisse Chuidian led the guests in giving a warm welcome to the photo hobbyist-hotelier and his charming Italian wife Paola who received helpful tips from many of the lady guests on places to visit in the city and suburbs. An exciting raffle of luxurious hotel prizes wrapped up the evening. Welcome, Torsten and Paola!
