Fishlanding sites for poor coastal communities

MANILA, Philippines - Agriculture Secretary Proceso Alcala and Senate Committee on Agriculture and Food chairman Senator Cynthia Villar unveil the map showing the initial 252 sites for community fish landing centers (CFLC) that the Department of Agriculture will build this year, during the recent program launch in Tanza, Cavite. The DA, through the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, will spend P718.2 million (P2.85 million per CLFC project) to establish the 252 facilities designed to improve fishery post-harvest practices in coastal communities, with more expected to be constructed until 2016.
