Sen. Edgardo J. Angara and Agriculture Secretary Arthur C. Yap will be the guest speakers at the program that will open the 2008 Agriculture and Fisheries Technology Commercialization Forum and Exhibit on Aug. 21.
The exhibit and forum will be the main highlight of the Aug. 21-24 observance of this year’s 21st anniversary of the Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Agricultural Research (DA-BAR). Venue of the four-day activities is the SM Megatrade Hall 2 of the SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.
Angara, chairman of the Senate committee on agriculture and food, will talk on the affair’s theme titled “Ike-21 Anibersaryo ng Patuloy no Pagsisiyasat sa Teknolohiya at Kaalamang Pang-agrikultura.”
DAR Director Nicomodes P. Eleasar said about 70 exhibitors from all over the country will showcase their product lines derived from the island’s natural assets during the exhibit.
The Aug. 21-24 exhibit will showcase for-sale fresh, manufactured and processed goods from fruits and vegetables to poultry, meat, and seafood, to organic products and handicrafts. — RAF
