In a memorandum, NFA assistant administrator Concepto R. Irigo, directed all NFA regional and provincial managers to use one percent CME by volume as a blend in petroleum diesel fuel for all NFA vehicles.
The use of CME blended bio-fuels for NFAs vehicles, Irigo said, will boost the energy conservation measures the agency has been implementing for electricity and fuel consumption.
This is also in consonance to the governments efforts to reduce its oil bills in the wake of the recent oil price increase in the world market, he said.
Irigo cited the need to sustain the efforts made by the agency to support the governments energy conservation thrusts. The NFA earlier received an 83 percent rating for its compliance with energy management measures particularly on electricity and fuel consumption.
During an on-the-spot inspection made by the DOLE, the NFA received a perfect score in fuel conservation, for designating an energy conservation officer tasked with the over-all coordinating and supervision of the agencys energy conservation measures and for issuing office orders mandating employees to comply with in-house energy conservation directives.
The energy management program espousing judicious use of energy resources and conservation efforts seeks to foreshall the adverse effects of the crude price increases on the countrys economy.
