PCARRD’s Eusebio named CLAN committee co-chairman

Dr. Jocelyn Eusebio, crops research division director of the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCARRD), has been elected co-chairperson of the steering committee of the Cereals and Legumes Asia Network (CLAN).

Chairman is Dr. N.B. Singh, assistant director general of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). They were elected during the 12th CLAN steering committee meeting held recently at the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) based in Patancheru, India.

Hosted by ICRISAT which is currently headed by former Agriculture Secretary Dr. William D. Dar, CLAN was established in 1992 as a network of scientists from 12 Asian countries who aim to achieve sustainable increases in cereal and legume production in the region.

The network facilitates interchange of germplasm, information, and technology among cereals and legumes scientists in Asia. CLAN’s objective is to help farmers increase cereal and legume production within sustainable farming systems. – RAF
