Shabu worth P10.5M seized from 2 suspects
CEBU, Philippines — Authorities confiscated a total of 1.55 kilograms of suspected shabu estimated at worth ?10.54 million and arrested two identified High-Value Individuals (HVIs) in separate buy-bust operations conducted by the Cebu City Police Office in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) late Friday night, June 26, and early Saturday morning, June 27.
The first operation was conducted around 11:10 P.M. along V. Rama Avenue, Barangay Calamba, where operatives of the City Intelligence Unit arrested James Eduard Nabua, 21, an ALS graduate and resident of Barangay Calamba.
Police said Nabua was caught during a buy-bust operation conducted under a valid PDEA pre-operation coordination. Recovered from him were approximately 550 grams of suspected shabu estimated at ?3.74 million.
More than an hour later, at around 12:20 A.M. on June 27, another buy-bust operation was launched in Sitio San Isidro, Barangay Mabolo, by operatives of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit of Police Station 4.
The operation resulted in the arrest of Cristito Flores Tumampo Jr., 26, a resident of Sitio Magsaysay, Barangay Sawang Calero, Cebu City, likewise identified by authorities as an HVI.
Operatives confiscated approximately one kilo of suspected shabu valued at ?6.8 million, along with the buy-bust item, several heat-sealed plastic packs containing suspected shabu, buy-bust money, a sling bag used as a container, and cash believed to be proceeds from illegal drug transactions
Both suspects are now facing charges for Violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, for the illegal sale and possession of dangerous drugs.(CEBU NEWS)
