MANILA, Philippines — BizNewsAsia Philippines, publisher of the country’s largest weekly business and news magazine, honored 16 of the Philippines’ outstanding CEOs, professionals and personalities for 2024.
The winners were feted during the 23rd anniversary of BizNewsAsia at a gala dinner held recently at Raffles Fairmont Hotel Makati.
Award categories were for visionary management excellence, general management excellence and excellence in media, the arts and the professions.
Named winners for Visionary Management Excellence were San Miguel Corp. CEO Ramon Ang, SM Investments Corp. vice chair and BDO chair Teresita Sy Coson and Vista Land chair Manuel Villar Jr. All three are the richest Filipinos.
The winners for overall excellence in management, the professions, media and the arts are RCBC CEO Eugene Acevedo, AC senior managing director Rene Almendras, Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista, Philippine STAR president and CEO Miguel Belmonte, SMC CFO Ferdinand Constantino, Commission on Elections Chairman George Garcia, Special Assistant to the President for Investments and Economic Affairs Frederick Go, glass sculptor Ramon Orlina, retired chief justice Artemio Panganiban, ARTA director general Ernesto Perez, lawyer Eusebio Tan, DICT Secretary Ivan Uy and William Guido for LED technology.
The over-200 guests at the awards night were led by the Philippines’ biggest tycoons and President Marcos’s leading Cabinet members. Each of the excellence awardees was given a 22-inch-tall wood trophy designed by BizNewsAsia publisher and CEO Tony Lopez.
The visionary management awardees were given an 18-inch tall golden solid brass bell trophy handcrafted in Italy and flown to Manila for the occasion.
The awardees were also featured in each of the two major publications launched during BizNewsAsia’s 23rd anniversary night, “Great Lives, Great Deeds,” a 336-page tome by Lopez, and “Power 100,” a 56-page profile of “The Most Powerful and Influential Filipinos.”
A third publication was published after the event, “The Best of the Best 2024-2025,” featuring all the 16 awardees.
