MANILA, Philippines — Low-cost airline based in South Korea, Aero K Airlines, on Tuesday launched its new route Cheongju to Manila, Manila to Cheongju flight at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3.
Cheongju is the capital of North Chungcheong province in central South Korea. It is dubbed "Cultural Capital of East Asia."
The Manila International Airport Authority gave the South Korean carrier a warm welcome in an inaugural flight ceremony.
“Welcome to Manila, Aero K ???????,” it wrote, tagging the official page of the airline.
“Flight RF527/528 of Aero K operates three times a week between Cheongju, South Korea and Manila with arrival time at 0135H PHT and departure time at 0235H PHT,” It added.
On Nov. 25, 2023, Aero K also launched its first flight from Clark International Airport (CRK) to Cheongju.
The CRK inaugural flight carried 167 and 37 passengers for arrival and departure, respectively.
CRK described Cheongju to offer “vast mountains and attractions that would win the hearts of hikers and trekkers.” It is popular for stone-built mountain fortress called Sangdang Mountain Fortress.
“These attractions are great for those who love sceneries paired with quick hikes and strolls,” CRK added.
