MANILA, Philippines — The Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) celebrates its 49th this Sunday, Sept. 18 with a series of simple ceremonies and activities with the theme, ‘Tulung-tulong sa Pagsulong. Pantay-pantay sa Pag-agapay.’
According to LWUA officer-in-charge Eileen dela Vega, this year’s theme focuses on LWUA and all water districts working together as the country transitions from the severe pandemic-related health restrictions to a new phase of recovery.
When the epidemic was at its worst, Dela Vega remarked, “We’ve weathered the worst and we’re able to move forward with our initiatives and activities using alternative modes of communication. We now live in a new normal where we draw on the lessons learned from the past to find our path and finish the duties that lie ahead.
To mark the event, LWUA has lined up a three-day program from Sept. 21 to 23 that includes sports activities, an outreach project, and a simple program to present service awards to employees with decades of tenure at the agency.
