MANILA, Philippines — Listed real estate company DoubleDragon Properties Corp. announced its unit signed a deal with the Department of Foreign Affairs to conduct passport processing activities around CityMalls nationwide.

In a statement sent to the stock exchange Tuesday, DoubleDragon said its subsidiary, CityMall Commercial Centers Inc., sealed the agreement that would allow passport processing through the DFA’s “Passport on Wheels” program around CityMalls.

The DFA last year started deploying mobile passport services to distant cities and municipalities in the country that could process up to 4,000 applications daily.

“Quarter per quarter, the roots of the chain of CityMalls continue to strengthen its grip in each and every provincial community in the Philippines,” DoubleDragon Chairman Edgar “Injap” Sia II said.

“Eventually, the string of 100 CityMalls will be like 100 water spouts strategically spread out in multiple provinces around the country,” Sia added.

DoubleDragon targets to complete a leasable portfolio of 1.2 million square meters by 2020, including 700,000 square meters from 100 CityMalls. — Ian Nicolas Cigaral
