MANILA, Philippines — The Center for Global Best Practices will host a special program on “How to Really Read Financial Statements for Board Directors and Decision-Makers,” on July 10 and 11, 2019 at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, Mandaluyong City.
This easy-to-understand program is designed for non-finance decision-makers who make use of financial statements. This program will help business owners, board directors and management to fully understand annual reports, income statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flows. Attendees will be able to spot critical issues and ask smart questions that business owners and management need to know. Find out what is right, what is wrong, and what is fishy in the financial reports. You will become more effective in your decisions if you understand the numbers and the meaning behind those numbers. Most importantly, improving your financial literacy will ensure you are being dealt with fairly and squarely by accountants and finance professionals – ensuring that you are not being taken for a ride.
In this two-day program, you will also learn to interpret the external auditors’ opinion as well as the footnotes and disclosures in annual reports. The skills you will learn will be very useful in investment decisions for your company and even in choosing stocks in the capital markets.
This program will feature Mary Jane Rosales, former president of The Institute of Internal Auditors in the Philippines (2008). She has a mastery of finance, having spent most of her career handling controllership and risk management functions in Petron Corp. She obtained an accounting degree from the University of the Philippines (1979).
This training will also feature one of the “Most Accurate Forecasters” in the world, Jonathan Ravelas, the chief market strategist of the largest commercial bank in the Philippines – BDO. His valuable insights and analysis on the financial performance of companies and the equities market are well sought after.
