Vivant unit to build Negros plant

MANILA, Philippines - Vivant Malogo Hydropower Inc. (VHMI), a unit of Vivant Energy Corp.,  has signed the contract for the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of its six-megawatt hydroelectric power project in Negros Occidental.

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), Vivant Corp., the parent firm of Vivant Energy, said the run-of-river plant will be located in Silay City in the province.

“On Feb. 2, 2015, Vivant-Malogo Hydropower Inc. signed the contract for engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) of the six- megawatt Malogo hydroelectric power plant with Oscar Sarmiento Construction, Inc. The run-of-river power plant will be located in Silay City, Negros Occidental. Vivant Energy Corp., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vivant Corp., owns 67 percent of VHMI,” Vivant Corp. said in its disclosure.

Incorporated in 2012, VHMI’s target is to implement a greenfield power plant project which will involve the construction and operation of a series of run-of-river hydropower facility in Silay City.
