MANILA, Philippines - The peso plunged against the dollar on Tuesday, closing at 44.95 from the previous day's 44.86.
Total volume transacted at the Philippine Dealing System amounted to $551.6 million, higher than the $531.9 million posted on Monday.
The peso opened Tuesday at 44.9.
