MANILA, Philippines - PhilStar.com columnist Rose Fres Fausto celebrated her golden birthday last Sunday together with the launch of her latest book The Retelling of The Richest Man in Babylon and her new website FQMom.com.
The Retelling of The Richest man in Babylon is Fausto’s take on the personal finance classic written by George Clason in 1926 where the famous mantra “Pay yourself first!” originated. This time it’s narrated in easy to understand language that elicits conversation between the parent and child. It’s a story and activity book for kids from 1 to 92, giving young children that valuable head start on the basic laws of money, and at the same time reminding the adults how simple the laws are. The book, which has an interesting trailer participated in by key Finance people like Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima, PSE President Hans Sicat, BSP Deputy Governor Nestor Espenilla, Jr., COL Financial Founder & Chairman Edward Lee, Sun Life president Riza Mantaring, founding president of the Fund Managers Association of the Philippines Marvin Fausto, famous Financial Literacy advocates Bo Sanchez, Salve Duplito, Randell Tiongson and Edric Mendoza, has quickly sold thousands of copies to date.
In order to reach more segments of the population, the book will soon be translated to the vernacular by Ateneo teacher, actor, writer and prolific Filipino speaker Ron Capinding. Fausto is also in talks with the Department of Education to have a nationwide project to make the book available to public schools and public libraries nationwide. Financial Literacy advocate Pol Espanola is also talking to universities in the Visayas for a similar move to make the book available to students in said area.
Fausto’s new website FQMom.com was also launched. It’s an exciting website not just for moms but also for everyone who believes in the importance of high FQ (Financial Intelligence Quotient) among all family members. Here she shares her take on FQ, parenting, relationships, womanhood, Behavioral Economics, interesting interviews with different personalities and many more. During the celebration, she joyfully talked about turning gold and a new perspective on the attitude of gratitude.
Fausto is very passionate about parenting and raising children with high FQ because she believes that doing so is arming our children with economic self-defense.
