MANILA, Philippines - The peso closed the week with a 5-centavo improvement from its previous close against the dollar, settling at 44.72 from the previous day's 44.77.
Total volume transacted at the Philippine Dealing System amounted to $1.077 billion, higher than the $878.5 million posted on Thursday.
The peso opened Friday at 44.74.
