Preparing businesses for Senate investigations

MANILA, Philippines - When you, your client or your boss are called or invited to a Senate investigation to testify as a witness or as an expert resource person, do you know what to do, how to behave or answer the questions without getting into trouble?

Many are humiliated, embarrassed, scandalized and incriminated unnecessarily simply because they are clueless on how to handle themselves in such a situation.

As part of your preparedness program, the Center for Global Best Practices is launching a pioneering seminar titled, “New Rules in Legislative Investigation in Aid of Legislation on Sept.  26, 2014 at Edsa Shangri-La Hotel, Mandaluyong City, Philippines.

This special program will feature Rodolfo Noel S. Quimbo who is the Director General of the Blue Ribbon Oversight Office Management (BROOM) at the Philippine Senate. His office investigates issues and persons concerned before a hearing is called. He has headed this office since 1997 and up to the present.

He formerly served as Chief of Staff (COS) to two Senators: Orlando S Mercado (1992-1994) and Juan M Flavier (1995-2007). Thus far, he has been the only person to have served as COS to two senators.

For seven (7) years, he served as senior lecturer at the UP College of Law, teaching Law and Policy in the Information Economy. Atty. Quimbo finished BA English and Bachelor of Laws at the University of the Philippines-Diliman.
