Total launches Excellium gasoline

MANILA, Philippines - Total (Philippines) Corp., the local unit of the French oil and gas giant, has introduced Excellium, its latest addition to its fuel product portfolio.

The 95+ RON premium motor gasoline offers three advantages: engine protection, lower emissions and fuel economy, Total said in a statement yesterday.

Total vice president for retail Thierry Chauveau said Excellium is formulated to prolong the efficiency and overall performance of the vehicle.

“With motorists looking for more and more features in their fuel products, Total considers now as the most opportune time to introduce Excellium, a fuel product that boasts of three key advantages,” Chauveau said.

Developed in France and backed by intensive research, Total’s new fuel product responds to the requirements of the market.

“Total cares about responding to the fuel requirements of the market. And it is just fitting that our research progresses towards developing environmentally-sound products that are also economical especially in a market like the Philippines where customers also factor in fuel features such as helping the environment, economy and engine protection in their fuel purchase,” he said.

In terms of technology, Total said Excellium comes with new molecules of detergent that cleans the most sensitive parts of modern engines, specifically targeting areas involved with petrol injection.

This technology provides cleaner motor and reduces engine wear and tear. Excellium carefully maintains the car to ensure optimum engine performance and longer vehicle service life, Total said.

Furthermore, Excellium promotes cleaner driving as it cuts down carbon dioxide emissions, the gas which adds to the greenhouse effect, by up to five percent.

The fuel product also cuts down pollutants like carbon monoxide and black fumes by up to 10 percent in new cars and by 25 percent in cars that are over five years old, Total added.
