MANILA, Philippines - Listed Now Corp. is set to venture deeper into the competitive telecommunications industry dominated by Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT) and Ayala-led Globe Telecom Inc. by offering mobile network services.
The company’s stockholders approved during their annual meeting the company’s entry into all text cellular mobile telephone business through Now Telecom Company Inc. (formerly Next Mobile Inc).
Over the past years, Now has invested heavily in development activities such as forging strategic alliances as well as acquiring telecom, media and technology companies including Softweb, Softrigger, and Holy Cow Animation.
The company has also infused financial resources to provide high-value innovative information and communication technology services and products.
In September 2011, Now signed a memorandum of understanding with Huawei Technologies for the delivery of the necessary equipment and technology services required as part of the initial stage for the nationwide build-up plans for its telecom business.
Aside from Now Telecoms, subsidiaries and affiliates include iResource Consulting International Inc., i-Professional Search Network Inc., among others.
The company’s brands include NowPlanet.TV and WebsiteExpress.Biz while products and services include broadband telecom, communication network, information technology infrastructure, IBM SmartCloud, Collaboration Software solutions, human resource management system, IT resource management outsourcing, managed services outsourcing, social journalism, live streaming, website development, among others.
Likewise, the company’s stockholders approved a plan to offer cloud services such as IBM Smart Cloud including email and calendar, collaboration and instant messaging, web meetings, document editor, mobile as well as human resource management system on cloud via cloud/on premise at P15,000 per month with three modules-employee profile, timekeeping and payroll.
Now is a telecommunications, media and technology company of diversified services with international presence in the US, Japan, and the United Kingdom .
Its products and services include social (customer relationship), telematics, web integration, digital and mobile applications technologies, wireless broadband infrastructure, among others.
With the new business ventures, Now Corp. expects to be back on the black on the back of a 46-percent increase in revenues this year.
“Now is also expecting to hit positive net income this year,†the company said.
The company’s revenues jumped 59 percent to P79.31 million last year from P50.01 million in 2012 as service revenues more than doubled to P53.32 million from P25.91 million. The company’s net loss was reduced by 37 percent to P87.23 million from P137.9 million.
