MANILA, Philippines - Aboitiz Land Inc., the property developer of the Aboitiz Group, said it is set to bid for the P35-billion Cavite-Laguna Expressway despite amendments to the original bid parameters.
AboitizLand is part of the consortium prequalified to bid for the project. Other members of the consortium include Ayala’s AC Infrastructure Holdings Corp. and Macquarie Infrastructure Holdings (Philippines) Pte. Ltd.
“Yes, we do intend to bid on June 2. There are some minor provisions that didn’t really work out but these are not deal breakers,†AboitizLand president and chief executive officer Andoni Aboitiz said in a press conference yesterday after the annual stockholders’ meeting of Aboitiz Equity Ventures, the holding company of the Aboitiz Group.
He declined to elaborate on the issues.
The Department of Public Works and Highways has issued Supplemental Bid Bulletin 32, informing pre-qualified bidders about the amendments to the original bid parameters.
According to the amendments, bidders who would offer a premium instead of asking for a subsidy would likely win the project in contrast to the earlier provision wherein the basis would be the lowest toll fee per kilometer.
Other prequalified bidders include San Miguel Corp.’s Optimal Infrastructure Development Inc., MPCALA Holdings Inc. led by Metro Pacific Development Corp. and Alloy MTD Philippines Inc.
